Role Overview :
This position acts as a District Utility and Railroad Coordinator within the Vincennes District Capital Program Management (CPM) Department. The main role of this position is to determine if and how utilities and railroads may be impacted by INDOT’s programmed projects. This is a dynamic role, and the candidate should enjoy developing relationships with various stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with reviewing roadway plan sets to determine utility conflicts, constructability concerns, and railroad impacts. This position requires regular travel within the district to and from various field locations for meetings. A professional engineering license is not required for this position. Candidates who have a Civil Engineering degree but do not hold a professional license may be hired at a lower minimum salary and will then be eligible for promotional increases upon achieving milestones, including passing the EIT exam, years of experience, and obtaining their professional engineering license.

Engineer Trainee:
A Professional Engineering license is not required for this position. Candidates who have an Engineering degree and a current Engineer in Training license (EIT), but do not hold a professional license, may be hired at a lower minimum salary and are eligible for promotional increases upon achieving milestones including years of experience and obtaining their Professional Engineering license. Upon obtaining a Professional Engineer license, the salary traditionally starts at an annual salary of $75,010 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
